It may sound easy, but choosing your first motorcycle requires a minimum of reflection. And yet, thinking does not rhyme with bike, because the choice is often dictated more by passion than by reason: the bike of your dreams, seen by chance or in a catalog. You know, it will be yours!
And yet, if you just got your license, if you can not afford expensive models (because you had to pass five times the license because of that damn guy), you know you will not be able to buy the last Yamasaki weighing less than its power, which will allow you to lose your license in 3 seconds.
No, let's be reasonable. A bike called basic will provide you with satisfaction for at least a couple of years. The time for a few miles by mastering the beast, rather than the contrary, will prevent you from damaging your leather jacket on the asphalt.
Hearken not your dealer telling you that a 95 hp bike to get started is quite reasonable and advising: "You know, you get a great deal, helluva brakes, and with the reserve you have, you can keep it long. You're not obliged to squeeze the handle immediately. And the basic 50 Hp is for girls or school motorcycles". This "first-name basis" "is used here as a commercial weapon, do not trust ... And remember that a small moto of a 50 Hp has an acceleration that leaves behind 99% of cars.
Also try to choose a bike to your size: not easy to master the weight of the animal with your toes, even if you was a dancer in your youth!
Similarly, it is not nice to drive with knees in the teeth! Do not put all your savings into the bike, you need resources for insurance, equipment, fuel and maintenance. Better a basic rolling moto than a sporting one in your garage. As to the choice of trail, custom, roadster, road or scooter ... everything depends on the use you make and your personal tastes.
And do not forget the biker outfit!
